Eastern Europe, late 1700s. Cobblestone villages crouch beneath winter fog. Candlelit churches cast long shadows over frightened congregations. And high above every hamlet, The Covenant of Priories watches.

Part religious order, part shadow government, the Covenant has spent decades weaving itself into every institution — law, medicine, education, trade. To question them is heresy. To resist is death.

But there are those who exist beyond the Covenant's reach. They dwell in the silences between words. They travel roads that do not appear on maps. They call themselves The Silent — and the Covenant has every reason to be afraid.

This is not purely a world of horror. It is a world of ancient mystery, unearthly forces, and the volatile edge where science and the arcane have not yet been fully separated. It is a world where the impossible walks beside the historical.

The Story of Claire

From Slave to Legend

Follow Claire from the cold morning her family was taken, to the cold night she comes to collect what was owed.

The Burning Village

The Covenant arrives in Claire's village before dawn. Her family is branded dissenters. She watches from a grain cellar as everything she knows is extinguished.

Years in the Priory

Taken as a ward of the Covenant, Claire is put to work. She learns obedience by force — and also patience, languages, theology, and the geography of her captors' power.

First Contact with The Silent

A message scratched onto the underside of a bread plate. A face she has never seen but somehow recognizes. Claire begins to understand she is not alone.

The Escape

A long time watching. A long time waiting. When the moment finally comes, it lasts exactly as long as she needs it to.

Becoming The Silent

The organization that takes her in is unlike anything the Covenant has prepared her to understand. Ancient. Precise. Something older than religion walks in their footsteps.

The Reckoning

The Covenant took her childhood. Her family. Her name. They are about to learn what she has built in place of all those things.
